What God Promises Tithers

What God Promises Tithers

Forex trader Dmitri Chavkerov recentlty cited tithing as one the main reason for his success in business (source). According to him the advice is based on the lives of successful authors, investors, and businesspeople:

Master Choa Kok Sui was a chemical engineer, and before becoming a spiritual leader, he was a very successful and very wealthy businessman. When I asked him during one dinner: ‘I wish to become a millionaire by the age of 25, please tell me exactly what I need to do.’ He told me: ‘Donate 10% of your income, save 30% of your income, and practice meditation on prosperity every day for one year, and you will certainly become a millionaire by the age of 30.’ He also said that tithing or giving 10% of your income to charity is the single and most important law of prosperity. Those who learn this law quickly and start practicing it, will become wealthy very quickly.”

Per Dmitri he donated at least 10% of his gross income before he became a millionaire, and now donates between 50% to 100% of his net income after becoming a millionaire.

In an interview with CNN money (source) the late billionaire investor Sir John cited tithing as the ‘single best investment’ anyone can make and claimed to give away $10 for each dollar he spent on himself.

In a recent case study, an entrepreneur by the name of Tyler Ward decided to put giving to the test. Using a personal-finance-tracking app, he monitored the amount of money he gave away in proportion to the unexpected income he received over a 12-month-period of time. After calculating and recalculating he found his return on investment was 610% (source). That’s right for every $1 he gave he received $6.10.

What am I getting at here?

You probably already figured it out: there is a strong scientific correlation between tithing and prosperity.

I call it scientific, God calls it a promise.

I mean we’ve seen it over and over:

Granted, there is the reality that the blessing may not come when you want it to come. In fact, there maybe days when you feel like NOTHING is happening at all.

But in the end every Word of God is true.

He is not a man that He should lie. If He said that’s what something is or will, then THAT is what it is or will be…regardless of what it looks or feels like.

Do you still believe Him? If not, why not?

  1. Great post and facts. God rewards and blesses those who freely tithe and give. I read a long time ago about how Rick Warren (due to his book sales) tithes 90 percent and lives on 10 percent. It took him time to make progress on those numbers but because he was faithful with a little he was blessed with much.

    • That’s why he made the list of top generous Christians :)

It is gratifying to know that God does bless those who give to His work. It may not come in our time but it does come.

  2. Very interesting post…and encouraging.

I do trust God. I also trust that He knows if I could handle that type of wealth, I think it’s a rare person who can give that generously. Reminds me of Proverbs 30:8-9

  3. I like the fact that God, I believe in Malachi, urged us to “test” Him. He only urges us to test Him in one place in all of scripture and it is in tithing. “Test Me in this and see if I don’t overfill your storehouses.” (paraphrase) God has blessed me, and I haven’t given to get, but from what I believe is His will and I struggle, stumble, and march into unwise financial snares, but He delivers me. It’s not about money, it’s about the heart. I think that’s what most people miss.

    • Absolutely!

He wants us to test Him out of love and not selfishness. I think people think that when He says He’ll open the windows of heaven they think currency will fall out. Rather wisdom, ideas, favor come out. When we do give to Him we should be looking out for “a blessing.”

I’m glad you enjoyed it Floyd

  4. I love the idea of tithing as an investment strategy. How many business partners can you be in business with who desires your prosperity above their own? And what a great business relationship. I give 10%, and my business Partner kicks in the other 90% AND gives ME all the profits. Pretty sweet deal.

    • Exactly!

That’s what I’m trying to get across. He is rich in everything and He wants us taken care of. He is a good God and a great partner. ;)

  5. Those are some powerful testimonies. I think the one thing it proves is that in the long run you can never outgive God!

  6. Yes, I believe those who tithe will be blessed. We gave when it hurt, but God found a way to supply our needs. Keep encouraging your readers to give even if it hurts. God’s measure is larger than ours and he gives back abundantly!
I found you at Rick’s Saturday Shortcuts #10.

    • Amen!

God sees every sacrifice and I’m glad that you can stand as testimony of that!

I will definitely keep sharing the message…I’m gonna have to go thank Rick later :)

  7. Glad I found your site! Great stuff man. I’ve been a tither ever since I learned about it. (about 10 years ago) I’ve got story after story of God’s blessing on my life, simply because I tithe. I’m going to keep checking your stuff out man. Very encouraging, and I’m always down to learn something new I can apply to my life.
